Terms and Conditions

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“you,” “your”) and Champion Ministries, Inc., d/b/a Groundwire (“Groundwire,” “we,” “us,” “our”), the parent ministry and owner of all Groundwire‑operated digital properties. This includes, without limitation, ChasingChrist.online, JesusCares.com, aJesusLeImporta.com, and any additional websites, subsites, mobile applications, chat platforms, or digital services operated by Groundwire now or in the future (collectively, the “Sites”). These Terms govern your access to and use of the Sites and all related media channels, communication tools, and interactive features (collectively, the “Services”).

Supplemental terms, policies, or guidelines that may be posted on any Site from time to time are incorporated by reference. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” above. Your continued use of the Services after any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

The Services are operated from the United States but are accessible worldwide. If you access the Services from the United Kingdom or any other region with laws governing consumer protection, data protection, or online services that differ from those in the United States, you agree that these Terms apply to your use. U.K. users may have additional rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the UK‑GDPR. Where such rights conflict with any portion of these Terms, the rights granted under applicable U.K. law shall prevail for U.K. users.

The information provided through the Services is not intended for distribution or use in any jurisdiction where such distribution or use would violate applicable law or subject Groundwire to registration or compliance requirements in that jurisdiction. Users who access the Services from outside the United States do so at their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

The Services are not designed to comply with industry‑specific regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), or the Gramm‑Leach‑Bliley Act (GLBA). If your interactions with the Services would be subject to such laws, you may not use the Services.

The Services are intended for individuals who meet the following minimum age requirements:

• United States: at least 14 years old

• United Kingdom: at least 13 years old, in accordance with the U.K. Age Appropriate Design Code

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under these age thresholds. If we learn that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

Groundwire is a Christian ministry that operates digital platforms designed to offer spiritual encouragement, faith‑based content, and opportunities for users to engage in live chat conversations with trained volunteers. Through the Sites, Groundwire provides access to inspirational messages, articles, videos, prayer opportunities, and real‑time interactions intended to offer emotional and spiritual support (collectively, the “Services”).

The Services are not clinical, medical, therapeutic, legal, or professional counseling services. All content and interactions provided through the Services—including live chat, messaging, email responses, and any other communication—are intended solely for spiritual encouragement and general informational purposes. Groundwire does not provide mental‑health treatment, crisis intervention, medical advice, or professional counseling of any kind.

Chat interactions may be facilitated by trained volunteers, staff members, or ministry partners (“Coaches”). Coaches are not licensed counselors, therapists, psychologists, medical professionals, or legal advisors, and they do not represent themselves as such. Coaches offer spiritual encouragement based on Christian principles and personal experience.

If you are experiencing a crisis, are in danger, or believe you may harm yourself or others, you must immediately contact local emergency services, a qualified mental‑health professional, or a crisis hotline available in your region. Groundwire is not equipped to respond to emergency situations.

The Services may include features that allow you to submit questions, prayer requests, or personal information. Any such submissions are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is collected, used, and protected under applicable U.S. and U.K. laws, including the UK‑GDPR where relevant.

Groundwire reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time, including chat availability, content offerings, or platform functionality, without prior notice.

Unless otherwise indicated, the Sites and all content provided through the Services—including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, video content, digital downloads, data compilations, software, chat interface designs, and all other materials (collectively, the “Content”)—are the property of Champion Ministries, Inc., d/b/a Groundwire, or are licensed to us for use. The Content is protected by applicable intellectual property laws, including but not limited to the copyright laws of the United States, the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (U.K.), and international copyright treaties.

All trademarks, service marks, logos, slogans, and trade dress appearing on the Sites (collectively, the “Marks”) are owned or controlled by Groundwire or are used under license. You may not use any Marks without our prior written permission.

The Content and Marks are provided to you “as is” for your personal, non‑commercial use only. Except as expressly permitted in these Terms, you may not copy, reproduce, aggregate, republish, upload, post, publicly display, encode, translate, transmit, distribute, sell, license, or otherwise exploit any part of the Sites, the Content, or the Marks for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Groundwire grants you a limited, revocable, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable license to access and use the Sites and to download or print a single copy of any portion of the Content to which you have properly gained access, solely for your personal, non‑commercial use.

This license does not permit:

• modifying or creating derivative works of the Content

• using the Content for commercial or promotional purposes

• removing copyright or proprietary notices

• scraping, data mining, or automated extraction of Content

• reverse engineering or attempting to access source code

All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Groundwire.

If you believe that any Content on the Sites infringes your intellectual property rights, you may notify us in accordance with the Copyright and Takedown Procedures described later in these Terms.

By accessing or using the Services, you represent and warrant that the following statements are true, accurate, and complete. These representations are conditions of your continued use of the Sites and Services:

1. You meet the minimum age requirements applicable to your region:

   • United States: You are at least 14 years old.

   • United Kingdom: You are at least 13 years old, in accordance with the U.K. Age Appropriate Design Code. You will not use the Services if you are under these age thresholds.
      

2. You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and to comply with them.
    

3. All information you provide during registration or use of the Services is and will remain true, accurate, current, and complete. You agree to promptly update such information as needed.
    

4. You will not access the Services through automated or non‑human means, including bots, scripts, scrapers, or automated tools, unless expressly permitted by Groundwire.
    

5. You will not use the Services for any unlawful, harmful, or unauthorized purpose, including any activity that violates applicable U.S., U.K., or international laws or regulations.
    

6. You will not use the Services in a manner that could interfere with, disrupt, or negatively affect the functioning of the Sites, the Services, or the experience of other users.
    

7. You are not prohibited from using the Services under any applicable laws, regulations, or governmental restrictions.
    

If any information you provide is untrue, inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, Groundwire reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services, delete your account, or take any other action deemed appropriate under these Terms.

Some features of the Services may require or allow you to create an account, submit contact information, or otherwise identify yourself.

 

When you create an account or provide information through any of the Sites, you agree to the following:

You agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information as requested during registration or during your use of the Services. You further agree to promptly update such information to ensure it remains accurate and complete.

5.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, including your username and password, and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify Groundwire immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account or any breach of security.

Groundwire is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account credentials.

5.3 Account Ownership and Restrictions

Accounts are personal to the individual user and may not be shared, transferred, or sold.

 

You may not create an account using:

• A false identity

• Another person’s name or information

• A temporary or disposable email address for deceptive purposes

• Automated or scripted account‑creation tools

 

Groundwire reserves the right to refuse, reclaim, or require modification of any username that is inappropriate, misleading, offensive, or otherwise inconsistent with our mission or policies.

5.4 Account Termination

Groundwire may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if:

• You violate these Terms

• You provide inaccurate or misleading information

• You engage in harmful, abusive, or unlawful behavior

• Your account remains inactive for an extended period

• Your use of the Services poses a risk to other users or to Groundwire

 

Upon termination, you may not create a new account without our express written permission.

5.5 No Expectation of Data Permanence

While Groundwire may maintain certain account‑related data for operational purposes, we do not guarantee the permanent storage or availability of any information associated with your account. Data retention and deletion practices are governed by our Privacy Policy.

You agree to use the Sites and Services only for lawful, respectful, and ministry‑appropriate purposes. You may not use the Services in any manner that violates these Terms, applicable law, or the safety and integrity of Groundwire’s platforms.

 

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

6.1 Interference With the Services

You may not:

• Access or use the Services in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Sites or any related systems.

• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to disrupt the proper functioning of the Services, servers, or networks.

• Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security‑related features, access controls, or usage limitations.

6.2 Unauthorized Access or Data Misuse

You may not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Sites, user accounts, servers, or networks.

• Collect or attempt to collect personal information about other users without their consent.

• Upload, transmit, or distribute viruses, malware, spyware, or any harmful code.

6.3 Misrepresentation and Deception

You may not:

• Impersonate any person or entity, including a Groundwire representative or volunteer.

• Misrepresent your identity, age, affiliation, or intentions.

• Create accounts using false information or for deceptive purposes.

6.4 Harmful, Abusive, or Illegal Behavior

You may not:

• Use the Services to harass, threaten, intimidate, defame, or harm any individual.

• Engage in hate speech, discriminatory behavior, or abusive conduct based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected characteristic.

• Promote or engage in illegal activities, including fraud, exploitation, or violence.

• Share content involving self‑harm, threats of harm, or content intended to distress or manipulate others.

6.5 Inappropriate or Unsafe Content

You may not submit, upload, or transmit content that:

• Is obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a ministry environment.

• Involves minors in any unsafe, exploitative, or inappropriate context.

• Contains graphic violence or harmful imagery.

• Violates any applicable intellectual property rights.

6.6 Commercial or Unauthorized Use

You may not:

• Use the Services for commercial solicitation, advertising, or promotion without our written permission.

• Sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Services for commercial gain.

• Use the Services to promote competing platforms or services.

6.7 Competitive or Malicious Intent

You may not:

• Use the Services to gather information for competitive analysis, reverse engineering, or unauthorized data extraction.

• Attempt to copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Sites or Services.

• Use the Services in any manner intended to harm Groundwire, its mission, its volunteers, or its reputation.

6.8 Violation of Law

You may not use the Services in any way that violates:

• U.S. federal, state, or local laws

• U.K. laws, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Online Safety Act

• International laws or regulations applicable to your location

 

Groundwire reserves the right to investigate violations, suspend or terminate access, and cooperate with law enforcement where required.

The Services may allow you to submit, upload, transmit, or otherwise make available content, including but not limited to messages, chat interactions, prayer requests, comments, questions, testimonials, suggestions, or other materials (“User Contributions”).

 

By submitting any User Contribution through the Sites or Services, you agree to the following:

 

7.1 Your Responsibility for Contributions

You are solely responsible for your User Contributions and for ensuring that they comply with these Terms and with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction, including U.S. and U.K. laws governing online safety, privacy, and intellectual property.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights, permissions, and licenses to submit your User Contributions.

• Your User Contributions do not infringe any third‑party rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.

• Your User Contributions are not unlawful, harmful, abusive, defamatory, harassing, threatening, obscene, exploitative, or otherwise inappropriate for a ministry environment.

• Your User Contributions do not contain personal information about minors unless you are their parent or legal guardian and such disclosure is lawful and appropriate.

• Your User Contributions do not include medical, therapeutic, or crisis‑related disclosures intended to seek professional intervention through the Services.

 

7.2 No Expectation of Privacy in Chat or Submissions

While Groundwire is committed to safeguarding personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, you acknowledge that:

• Chat interactions may be monitored, reviewed, or recorded for training, safety, and quality assurance.

• User Contributions submitted through chat, forms, or messaging may be visible to Groundwire staff, volunteers, or authorized ministry partners.

• You should not submit sensitive personal information (such as financial data, medical records, or government identification numbers) through the Services.

 

7.3 License You Grant to Groundwire

By submitting User Contributions, you grant Groundwire a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free, transferable, sublicensable license to:

• Use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display your User Contributions

• In any media or format now known or later developed

• For ministry, operational, training, safety, or promotional purposes

This license is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law and does not apply to personal data protected under the Privacy Policy.

 

7.4 Right to Remove or Restrict Contributions

Groundwire reserves the right, but not the obligation, to:

• Review, monitor, or moderate User Contributions

• Remove, edit, or restrict any User Contribution that violates these Terms or is otherwise inappropriate

• Suspend or terminate access for users who repeatedly violate contribution standards

 

Groundwire is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from the removal or unavailability of any User Contribution.

 

7.5 No Liability for User Contributions

Groundwire does not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for any User Contribution. You agree to hold Groundwire harmless from any claims arising out of your User Contributions or your interactions with other users.

By submitting any User Contribution through the Sites or Services—including chat messages, prayer requests, comments, testimonials, suggestions, or any other form of content—you grant Champion Ministries, Inc., d/b/a Groundwire a limited license to use such content as described below.

8.1 Scope of License

You grant Groundwire a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free, transferable, and sublicensable license to:

• Use, reproduce, store, display, publish, adapt, modify, translate, and distribute your User Contributions

• In any media or format now known or later developed

• For ministry operations, training, safety, quality assurance, analytics, content improvement, and promotional or testimonial purposes (where legally permissible)

 

This license applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law and does not override rights granted to you under data‑protection laws such as the UK‑GDPR or other privacy regulations referenced in our Privacy Policy.

 

8.2 Personal Data Exclusion

This license does not apply to personal data protected under our Privacy Policy. Any processing of personal data is governed exclusively by the Privacy Policy and applicable U.S. and U.K. data‑protection laws.

 

8.3 No Compensation

You acknowledge and agree that:

• You will not receive compensation for any User Contribution

• You waive any claim to royalties, fees, or other payments related to Groundwire’s permitted use of your contributions

 

8.4 Moral Rights Waiver (Where Permitted)

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you waive any “moral rights” or similar rights you may have in your User Contributions, including rights of attribution or integrity. Where such rights cannot be waived (e.g., under certain U.K. laws), you agree not to assert them against Groundwire.

 

8.5 Testimonials and Public Use

If you voluntarily submit a testimonial, story, or similar content intended for public sharing:

• You grant Groundwire the right to publish, edit, and display that content publicly

• Groundwire may use your first name, initials, or a pseudonym, depending on your submission and applicable law

• You may withdraw consent for public use at any time where required by law (e.g., under UK‑GDPR)

 

8.6 Retention and Removal

Groundwire may retain User Contributions for operational, safety, training, or legal purposes even after:

• You delete your account

• You request removal of specific content

• You discontinue use of the Services

 

Retention of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

The Sites and Services may allow you to submit feedback, comments, suggestions, testimonials, reviews, ideas, or other forms of input (“Feedback”).

 

By providing any Feedback, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

 

9.1 Voluntary and Non‑Confidential Nature of Feedback

All Feedback you submit to Groundwire is provided voluntarily. You agree that:

• Feedback is not confidential,

• Feedback does not create any fiduciary or professional relationship, and

• Groundwire has no obligation to keep Feedback private, respond to it, or act upon it.

 

9.2 License to Use Feedback

By submitting Feedback, you grant Groundwire a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty‑free, transferable, and sublicensable license to:

• Use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display the Feedback

• In any media or format now known or later developed

• For ministry, operational, training, safety, or promotional purposes

 

This license applies only to non‑personal data. Any personal data included in Feedback is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable U.S. and U.K. data‑protection laws.

 

9.3 No Compensation or Attribution Required

You agree that:

• Groundwire is not required to compensate you for Feedback

• Groundwire is not required to attribute Feedback to you

• You waive any claim to royalties, fees, or other payments related to Groundwire’s use of Feedback

 

9.4 Accuracy and Appropriateness of Feedback

You represent and warrant that:

• Your Feedback is truthful and based on your genuine experience

• Your Feedback does not contain unlawful, defamatory, abusive, or inappropriate content

• Your Feedback does not violate the rights of any third party

• Your Feedback is not submitted for deceptive, competitive, or malicious purposes

 

9.5 Public Testimonials

If you voluntarily submit a testimonial or story intended for public use:

• Groundwire may publish, edit, or display the testimonial publicly

• Groundwire may use your first name, initials, or a pseudonym, depending on your submission and applicable law

• You may withdraw consent for public use where required by law (e.g., under UK‑GDPR)

 

9.6 No Liability for User‑Generated Reviews or Feedback

Groundwire does not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of any user‑generated reviews or testimonials. You agree that Groundwire is not responsible for:

• The content of user reviews

• Any harm or loss resulting from reliance on such reviews

• The removal or retention of any review or testimonial

 

Groundwire reserves the right to remove or moderate reviews at its discretion.

The Sites and Services may contain links to third‑party websites, applications, platforms, or services (“Third‑Party Websites”), as well as content, materials, or resources originating from third parties (“Third‑Party Content”). These may include, without limitation, embedded videos, social‑media integrations, external articles, advertisements, or links provided by users or ministry partners.

10.1 No Endorsement or Control

Groundwire does not:

• Endorse, approve, or guarantee any Third‑Party Website or Third‑Party Content

• Control or monitor the accuracy, legality, safety, or appropriateness of Third‑Party Websites

• Assume responsibility for the policies, practices, or content of any third‑party provider

 

Your use of Third‑Party Websites is entirely at your own risk.

 

10.2 Separate Terms and Policies

When you access a Third‑Party Website, you are subject to that website’s:

• Terms of use

• Privacy policy

• Cookie policy

• Data‑processing practices

• Age restrictions

• Safety standards

 

These may differ significantly from Groundwire’s policies. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the applicable third‑party terms.

 

10.3 No Liability for Third‑Party Interactions

Groundwire is not responsible for:

• Any loss, damage, or harm arising from your use of Third‑Party Websites

• Any transactions you enter into with third parties

• Any content, products, or services offered by third parties

• Any data collection or tracking performed by third‑party platforms

• Any malware, harmful code, or security vulnerabilities originating from third‑party sources

 

You agree to hold Groundwire harmless from any claims arising from your interactions with third parties.

 

10.4 Third‑Party Purchases

If you purchase goods or services from a Third‑Party Website:

• The transaction is solely between you and the third party

• Groundwire does not process payments, guarantee products, or provide customer support for such purchases

• Groundwire is not responsible for refunds, disputes, or product quality

 

10.5 External Links Provided by Users

If users share links within chat interactions or other submission features:

• Groundwire does not verify or endorse such links

• You access user‑shared links at your own risk

• Groundwire may remove or block links that are unsafe, inappropriate, or violate these Terms

 

10.6 Ministry Partner Integrations

Some Sites may integrate with ministry partners or service providers (e.g., video hosts, analytics tools, or communication platforms). These integrations may involve Third‑Party Content or data processing governed by the partner’s policies. Details are provided in our Privacy Policy.

The Sites and Services may display advertisements, promotional content, sponsorships, or links provided by third parties (“Advertisements”). These may appear in various formats, including banners, embedded content, sponsored messages, or partner integrations.

Unless expressly stated, Groundwire does not:

• You have full legal rights to use all content in your Advertisement

• Your Advertisement complies with all applicable U.S. and U.K. laws, including advertising standards and consumer‑protection regulations

• Your Advertisement does not infringe any third‑party rights

• Your Advertisement does not contain misleading, harmful, or inappropriate content

• You are solely responsible for all products, services, or offers promoted through your Advertisement

 

Groundwire provides advertising space only and does not participate in or oversee advertiser operations.

 

11.3 No Liability for Advertiser Content or Transactions

Groundwire is not responsible for:

• The content of any Advertisement

• Any loss, damage, or harm arising from your reliance on Advertisements

• Any transaction, purchase, or interaction you engage in with an advertiser

• The quality, safety, legality, or performance of advertised products or services

 

You agree to hold Groundwire harmless from any claims arising from your interactions with advertisers.

 

11.4 Removal or Rejection of Advertisements

Groundwire reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

• Reject any Advertisement

• Remove or disable any Advertisement

• Restrict advertising categories or content types

• Terminate advertising relationships

 

Groundwire may take such actions without notice if an Advertisement is inappropriate, misleading, harmful, or inconsistent with Groundwire’s mission and values.

 

11.5 Sponsored or Partnered Content

From time to time, Groundwire may publish content created in partnership with ministry partners, sponsors, or affiliated organizations. Such content will be clearly identified where required by law, including U.S. FTC guidelines and U.K. ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) rules.

Groundwire reserves the right, but not the obligation, to take any of the following actions at any time and for any reason, without notice:

 

12.1 Monitoring and Enforcement

Groundwire may:

• Monitor the Sites and Services for violations of these Terms

• Review, moderate, or remove any content submitted by users

• Restrict or disable access to any portion of the Sites

• Suspend or terminate user accounts that violate these Terms

• Take legal action against users who violate applicable laws or pose risks to the ministry, its volunteers, or other users

 

12.2 Technical and Operational Management

Groundwire may:

• Modify, update, or discontinue any part of the Sites or Services

• Implement maintenance, updates, or security patches

• Introduce new features or remove existing ones

• Limit access to certain features, content, or areas of the Sites

• Manage bandwidth, storage, or server resources as needed

 

You acknowledge that temporary interruptions or downtime may occur due to maintenance, upgrades, or technical issues.

12.3 Protection of Users and the Ministry

Groundwire may take actions necessary to:

• Protect the safety and well‑being of users

• Safeguard the integrity of the Sites and Services

• Prevent fraud, abuse, or malicious activity

• Comply with legal obligations, court orders, or governmental requests

• Enforce age restrictions and content standards

 

12.4 Data and Content Management

Groundwire may:

• Remove or disable content that violates these Terms or is otherwise inappropriate

• Retain or preserve content for operational, legal, or safety purposes

• Store, archive, or delete data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law

 

Groundwire does not guarantee the permanent availability of any content or data submitted through the Services.

 

12.5 No Obligation to Act

While Groundwire reserves the right to take the actions described in this section, we are not obligated to do so. Users should not assume that Groundwire will monitor or enforce every instance of prohibited conduct.

Your privacy is important to us. Groundwire collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
